Patrick Harshman

President and Chief Executive Officer

Patrick Harshman joined Harmonic in 1993 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in May 2006. In December 2005, he was appointed Executive Vice President responsible for the majority of Harmonic’s operational functions, including the unified digital video and broadband optical networking divisions as well as global manufacturing. Prior to the consolidation of Harmonics’ product divisions, Patrick held the position of President of the Convergent Systems division and, for more than four years, was President of the Broadband Access Networks division. Prior to this, he held key leadership positions in marketing, international sales and research and development. Patrick earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and completed an Executive Management Program at Stanford University.

Carolyn V. Aver

Chief Financial Officer

Carolyn V. Aver joined Harmonic in June 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. From 2002 to 2007, she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Agile Software Corporation until its acquisition by Oracle Corporation. From 1998 to 2000, Carolyn was the Chief Financial Officer of USWeb/CKS until its merger with the CKS Group.  Prior to that, she held the position of Chief Financial Officer at ParcPlace-Digitalk from 1993 until its 1997 acquisition. From 1984 to 1993, Carolyn was the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Autodesk. She began her career with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young), and earned her CPA in 1986. Carolyn obtained a B.S. in Accounting from California State University East Bay.

Peter Alexander

Senior Vice President, CMO

Peter Alexander is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Harmonic, where he leads the corporate marketing function in support of the company's global growth initiatives. Peter has more than three decades of experience in engineering and marketing hardware and software solutions for the telecommunications industry. A proven marketing executive with broad experience managing multibillion-dollar product lines, as well as executing global marketing strategies, he spent 15 years with Cisco Systems, where he served as vice president of worldwide field marketing, and recently served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Roamware, a Mobile Services Enablement company.

Peter earned his B.Eng from the University of Bradford and his MBA from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Shahar Bar

Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Shahar Bar joined Harmonic in 1999 and was appointed Vice President of Corporate Development in June 2008. He is responsible for identifying, analyzing and pursuing new video markets and associated acquisition targets that complement and drive Harmonic's worldwide growth. Shahar's experience at Harmonic includes a variety of roles in engineering, marketing and management, including Director of Satellite and Broadcast markets and Director of On-Demand solutions. Prior to joining Harmonic, he held various positions at Rafael, a defense industry corporation, including Senior Project Manager and Engineering Manager. A Cum Laude graduate of the Technion, Israel's Institute of Technology, Shahar holds a B.S. in Information Systems and an M.B.A.

Nimrod Ben-Natan

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Edge and Access Products

Nimrod Ben-Natan joined Harmonic in 1997, was appointed Vice President of Product Marketing, Solutions and Strategy in 2007, and became Senior Vice President and General Manager, Edge and Access Products in 2012. Nimrod initially joined Harmonic as a software engineer to design and develop its first-generation video transmission platform, and in 2000 transitioned to product marketing, solutions and strategy to develop the digital video cable segment. From 1993 to 1997, he was employed at Orckit Communications Ltd., a digital subscriber line developer. Previously, Nimrod worked on wireless communications systems while he was with the Israeli Defense Signal Corps. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.

Charles Bonasera

Senior Vice President, Operations

Charles Bonasera joined Harmonic in October 2006 as Vice President, Operations. From 2005 to 2006, he was Senior Director of Global Sourcing at Solectron, a leading global provider of electronics manufacturing services and supply chain solutions. From 1999 to 2005, Charles held various key positions in outsourcing strategies, commodity management, supply management and supply chain development at Sun Microsystems.

Neven Haltmayer

Senior Vice President, Research and Development

Neven Haltmayer joined Harmonic in December of 2002 and was appointed Vice President of Research and Development in November 2005. Prior to this, Neven was Director of Engineering of Compression Systems and managed the development of Harmonic’s MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoder and Electra product lines. Prior to joining Harmonic, he held various key positions at Canal Plus Technologies, including Vice President of Engineering, and was responsible for system integration and development of STB middleware and interactive applications. Neven earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.

Peter E. Hilliard

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Pete Hilliard joined Harmonic in October 2008 and brings over 20 years of executive human resources leadership experience. Previously, Pete was Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Services at Agile Software Corporation from 2002 until acquisition by Oracle in 2007. Prior to Agile, he served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration with Internet infrastructure companies Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. and SiteSmith, Inc. and was Partner and Vice President of Client Services with consulting firm 54th Street Partners, LLC, where he led strategic engagements with clients such as Webvan, Borland Software, BeVocal and SiteSmith. Earlier in his career Pete held senior executive HR roles with explosive growth company Boston Market, Inc. Pete also serves on the Board of Directors for enterprise solution service provider Metaverse Mod Squad, Inc., and on the Advisory Board of the consulting firm, Compinsense.

Ron Howe

Senior Vice President, Service and Support

Ron Howe joined Harmonic in 2010 from Omneon, where he was responsible for the worldwide Technical Support, Field Service and Professional Services teams since 2005. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Global Services at BlueArc Corporation, where he built and managed the global services infrastructure and developed the firm's outstanding customer service reputation. Before joining BlueArc, Ron was Vice President of Professional Services at Minerva Networks, Inc., and was instrumental in creating that company's delivery model for interactive television over broadband IP. Prior to Minerva, he was the Director of Worldwide Systems Engineering and Integration Services at DiviCom, Inc. (acquired by Harmonic). Ron also held director-level positions at TRW, Inc. (acquired by Northrop Grumman). He holds a B.S. from the University of the State of New York and an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.

Krishnan Padmanabhan

Senior Vice President, Video Products

Krishnan Padmanabhan joined Harmonic in 2012 as Senior Vice President, Products. Krishnan recently served as vice president and general manager of the Manageability and Ecosystem Integration business unit at NetApp, where his organization focused on storage management solutions, as well as integration of storage infrastructure with business-critical applications. Prior to joining NetApp in 2003, Krishnan was senior director of marketing for Philips Components’ MultiMedia Connectivity Solutions business.

He earned his BSE in aerospace engineering from Princeton University and his M.S. and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
