management software.
A user-friendly GUI and simple workflow automate the control of a video tape recorder (VTR) or DVD player, and the system includes functionality for stream capture and video/audio playback. The CLEARcut Workstation is a 2-RU (SD/HD) rack-mountable PC that is fully compatible with Harmonic encoders. CLEARcut uses a DPI interface to control stream captures using Harmonic’s broadcast-quality encoders, which receive input from video tape players, DVD players, and live broadcast streams.
CLEARcut provides the capability to create Cable Labs ADI 1.0 and v1.1 metadata and associated ADI. xml files using the CLEARcut 3.1 Enhanced Metadata Editor. The entry of metadata through the CLEARcut Metadata Editor is accomplished via formatted GUI windows that guide the user through the entry process of creating the asset package (asset summary), title asset, movie asset, still image asset, and preview asset as defined in ADI 1.0 and 1.1. CLEARcut is integrated with leading third-party ad insertion and VOD systems.
