The PWRBlazer™ II Optical Node has a variety of RF modules available to provide forward and return RF connections between the node and coaxial cables. The NRF 3142Q/QA node modules offer up to two-way forward path segmentation and four-way return path segmentation.
All of the RF modules for the PWRBlazer II node include return mute switches for isolating ingress. Manually controlled mute switches on each of the return ports are offered on the NRF 3142Q, while the NRF 3142QA has transponder controlled mute switches on each of its return ports.
Both models have one active device for each forward path, as well as a standard gain and RF output level.
The optical node modules feature high isolation to allow for distinct information content on each port, high forward to return isolation to allow maximal use of the return path, and GaAs amplifiers for high performance and low power consumption. And, the status monitoring bus allows a transponder using the NETWatch™ Element Management System to control the transponder controlled return mute attenuators.
