The Harmonic Ingest Gateway provides a single entry point for ingesting video assets into one or a cluster of Harmonic StreamLiner® server nodes per Cable Labs Asset Distribution Interface (ADI) standards. The Ingest
Gateway fully automates the workflow of asset ingest with no human intervention required in the entire
process. Also, the automated ingest means that operators need not worry about the integration required for
asset ingest in an eco-system with equipments from multiple vendors. The Ingest Gateway interfaces with
all critical components and manages all aspects of the asset ingest process:
-
StreamLiner video server and storage systems
- Asset distribution service end-point devices, such as a catcher
- Conditional Access System (CAS)/Digital rights management (DRM) asset encryption systems
- Middleware/Business Management System (BMS)
Distribution of assets to video servers
Notification to Middleware/BMS of new asset availability through ADI metadata
- Posts ADI file to middleware / BMS for notification of new asset availability
- Supports both ADI-based and non-ADI-based middleware / BMS
The Harmonic Ingest Gateway works with a single StreamLiner node or multiple StreamLiner nodes in a StreamLiner Cluster to provide a common asset management interface. A single Ingest Gateway can service
one or more StreamLiner Clusters. When deployed to manage multiple StreamLiner nodes, Harmonic’s Armada RT application can be added to enable complete automation of asset ingest and dynamic asset
distribution management.
Harmonic’s Ingest Gateway is fully integrated with industry leading video distribution equipments and
services, CAS / DRM systems, and middleware / BMS applications to provide a comprehensive solution.
