DiviTrackXE™ is the evolution of the market leading statistical multiplexing solution from
Harmonic. DiviTrackXE (XE for eXtended Efficiency) supports the following new features:
- High Definition support with the MV500
- Up to 24 devices in a statistical multiplex pool
- Service-based bandwidth priority control
The architecture is based on a closed loop system with a dedicated return channel to each
device to enable the multiplexer to orchestrate the process. Unified stat mux
pool control provides the most efficient use of bandwidth.
Standard Definition Support
The LookAhead technique (dual-pass
encoding) was pioneered by Harmonic, and is used to enhance the efficiency of both the Constant Bit Rate (CBR) applications and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) statistical multiplexing applications.
High Definition Support
Statistically multiplexing HD signals lowers HDTV implementation costs by improving bandwidth utlization efficiency, allowing room for more programs.
Harmonic technology offers unprecedented benefits to cable operators as well. Using
DiviCom MV500 encoders and DiviTrackXE™, up to four HD channels can be multiplexed
into a single 256 QAM carrier, freeing up an extra 6MHz channel.
