ChannelPort Operations



Course Description:

This instructor-led course provides an overview of Spectrum and ChannelPort workflows and hardware, and covers tasks related to configuring, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The course also includes the Harmonic Template Authoring package. Students complete tasks using SystemManager, the Spectrum system’s administrative hub. Optional topics are included on an as-needed basis.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this training, students will be able to describe ChannelPort and the components associated with the ChannelPort environment, configure ChannelPort settings in SystemManager, identify the file system folders used with ChannelPort, set up the Templates and Tools package for a variety of different user needs, and perform some basic troubleshooting for common ChannelPort related issues.

Course Prerequisites:

Knowledge of the Spectrum environment and SystemManager, along with a basic understanding of ingest of video for playout, timelines, and playlists, Samba, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), general networking, Adobe® Creative Suite®, Flash® Player, and graphic formats such as Small Web Format (.swf), Flash® Video (.flv), MPEG-4 (.mp4), Portable Network Graphic (.png), and Bitmap (.bmp).
