NMX for Broadcast

Course Description:

Harmonic's NMX Digital Service Manager is the definitive video network management solution, encompassing a powerful set of tools for monitoring and managing Harmonic compressed digital video and audio systems. In this instructor-led course, students learn how to monitor, operate, and troubleshoot a Harmonic digital video compression system in a broadcast environment.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this training course, students will be able to perform key NMX operations; including construction or modification of network maps and service plans, service plan to network map connection, and service plan activation. In addition students will learn NMX server administration, batch file creation, use of alarms and logs for system monitoring and troubleshooting, and NMX redundancy schemes for service resilience.

Course Prerequisites:

While no prior knowledge of Harmonic equipment is required for this course, a basic knowledge of networking, including Ethernet, switching, and TCP/IP is recommended. Also, an understanding of MPEG-2 and video processing systems would be helpful. Harmonic strongly recommends you complete a basic networking course prior to attending this course.
