Spectrum Family Operations



Course Description:

The Spectrum family of media server systems include our MediaDirector system controllers, MediaCenter media servers with integrated storage, MediaStore shared storage arrays, Spectrum X advanced media server systems, and MediaPort 7000 and ChannelPort integrated channel I/O products. In this instructor-led course, students learn about Spectrum family hardware and workflows, and tasks related to configuring, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting a Spectrum system. Students complete tasks using SystemManager, the Spectrum system's administrative hub. Optional topics are included on an as-needed basis.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this training, students will be able to describe the Spectrum family of products and the components associated with the Spectrum environment, storage systems, and compatible video formats, use SystemManager for configuration, monitoring, and maintenance, create and control players for recording and playback, reboot, shutdown, and power on the system and its components, and report problems to Technical Support.

Course Prerequisites:

Basic understanding of Video Disk Control Protocol (VDCP), ingest of video for playout and record, Samba, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and general networking.
