Spectrum X reduces the complexity of broadcast workflows by merging multiple capabilities onto a single appliance. Native 3G SDI and IP I/O on the same chassis simplifies the transition to IP workflows and the launch of new revenue-generating channels.
Comprehensive format & codec support
The software-based Spectrum X supports a wide range of commonly used SD, HD, 3G and Ultra HD formats. Codec support includes AVC I-Frame, XAVC, XAVC-LGOP, AVC-LGOP, DVCPRO HD, XDCAM HD, VC-3 and ProRes.
Spectrum X can operate as a true CiaB or as part of a Spectrum shared storage infrastructure. All functionality is available via software license keying. Spectrum X is a highly flexible system that allows the easy addition of new codecs, capabilities, IP I/O and other advanced features when needed.
When configured as a standalone server, Spectrum X will ingest and play from MediaGrid shared storage. This configuration results in a highly scalable, Ethernet-based shared storage system optimized for digital media workflows with virtually unlimited channel count.
Spectrum X uses fully open API's and integrates with multiple automation and MAM systems. The API's allow vendors to control and manage all functions from clip player to graphics and master control operations within the server.
Spectrum X functional flexibility means that it can be deployed in many workflows. Not only full MCR transmission and CiaB, but also ingest, news and studio production, Spectrum X will fit in.
