The ViBE CP6100 half-rack contribution platform supports two hot-swappable slots for processing boards. It encodes an unprecedented four HD channels or encodes and modulates up to two channels per half-rack chassis. Processing boards can serve as either MPEG encoder/decoders with AES and analog audio interfaces or dual-channel MPEG encoder/decoder boards with DVB-S/S2/S2X modulators. Both MPEG boards feature the latest embedded MPEG video compression technology for industry-leading video quality. Codecs and profiles – from MPEG-2 SD 4:2:0 up to MPEG-4 HD 4:2:2 10-bit – can be enabled with software licensing as required. The hot-swappable DVB-S/S2/S2X modulator offers the full range of modulation modes up DVB-S2X 64APSK. It supports extended symbol rates and the latest DVB-S2X extensions such as low roll-off and carrier ID.

ViBE CP6100 Features
With two slots and dual channels per board, the ViBE CP6100 offers a density of up to four SD/HD channels or up to two SD/HD channels with DVB-S/S2/DSNG modulators per unit. This significantly reduces channel costs and power consumption.
Scalability and Agility
The MPEG board supports MPEG-2 SD to MPEG-4 HD 4:2:2 10-bit formats and each of its two slots can house a hot-swappable encoder/decoder board. This allows the unit to be reused in multiple encoding and decoding schemes, minimizing investment and simplifying operation and management.
The ViBE CP6100’s modular hot-swappable architecture and high-throughput connection between slots are designed to host any future applications such as 1080p50/59.94, AVC-Intra only and 3D.
